Crochet tension
12 double crochets in width and 12 rows in height with 1 strand of each quality = 10 x 10 cm.
Hook size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger hook size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller hook size.

Crochet Information
At the beginning of each round of double crochets work 1 chain stitch, which does not replace the first double crochet. The round finishes with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at the beginning of the round (not in the chain stitch).

The first round is worked from the right side. Finish the round with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at the beginning of the round.
Turn and work the next round from the wrong side. Finish the round with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at the beginning of the round.

Work 1 round with 1 lobster stitch in each stitch (lobster stitch is a double crochet worked the other way, i.e. from left to right). Cut and fasten the strands.
