Cast on

  1. Take the first ball of yarn and using circular needles, cast on 18 (22, 26) stitches for the right mitten.
  2. Switch to the second ball of yarn. CO 36 (44, 52) st for the left mitten, right next to the previously cast-on stitches.
  3. Slide all the cast-on stitches to the center of the needles. The half-set of stitches should be just to the right.
